Road Safety is top priority at Isleham Primary

The children at Isleham Primary have started this academic year with a new initiative to help ensure that the roads are as safe as possible around the school. The children were tasked with designing and producing road safety posters to be made up into large banners for display outside the school, encouraging families to park and walk to the school gates and avoid parking on the zig-zag lines outside the school. The winning designs by Lois for Key Stage 1 and Millie for Key Stage 2 will soon be made up into large vinyl banners.Well done to all the children who took part in the competition. Our local Councillor- Cllr Mark Goldsack visited the school to present the winners with their prizes and tell us more about his job as a Councillor and how he was voted in. We all agreed that the system is very similar to how we democratically vote in our School Council representatives and Year 6 House Captains each year.
Isleham Primary School has also become part of the Junior Travel Ambassador scheme this year. We were delighted to launch our new Road Safety banners with the Junior Travel Ambassador lead from Cambridgeshire County Council- Maree Richards. So far, our JTAs have led 2 assemblies about being bright and seen in the winter months, and about the 'green cross code'.
