At Isleham, we ensure that all children have access to a hot, well prepared meal every day.

All meals will be cooked from fresh ingredients every day, sourced locally and prepared on-site.

Over the course of the academic year there will be various theme days, activities and even staff recipes.

Each day, served with a main meal, there is the option of freely choosing items from the salad bar, and a piece of fruit.  There are often, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, peppers, bread, potatoes, pasta and sweetcorn.

Research shows the link between nutritious food, concentration, cognitive skills and academic performance, so it’s important to get the meals right. Food needs to be seen as an important part of children’s education and we also provide lots of opportunities for each class to cook, with a design and technology unit of learning.  As a staff team, we believe that we have a responsibility to make sure that the children are eating well and that they understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle in the future.
